Cyber Patriot Team Program summary:
- Goal. To allow students to TRY cybersecurity firsthand to see if they like it.
- Practices. Our middle school teams will practice after school on Thursday from 4-6 pm. Practices are hybrid - students can either be in-person at Troy HS or on zoom. Our Troy HS students are the teachers. They make great role models.
- Absolutely NO experience required. We will teach students about how to STOP hackers by making Windows PCs, Linux PCs or networks harder to break into.
- Cost: We ask for donations to our booster club. There are no fees.
- Grades: 4th-8th
- Teams: 4th-5th graders will be on teams of 2-3 students. 6th-8th graders will be on teams of 2-6 students (more is better)
- Competitions: generally one Saturday per month for 7 hours at Troy HS.
- Computers needed for practice: if on Zoom: a Chromebook or better. If in person, students will use Troy HS PCs.
- We have had 120-150 middle school students in our program for each of the past 3 years. Come along and join the fun!
